Hi Everyone,
I hope you are settling into the demands of university study well so far! Week three being around the corner blows my mind! The company that I was assigned on Friday of Week 1 was Breville Group. I have never heard of this company before even though it is a global powerhouse in the electrical appliance industry – the small kitchen appliances market to be specific!
Breville Group differentiates itself from competitors with the ‘food thinking’ strategy – I do not have a clue what this strategy entails, but just the thought makes me hungry. Breville is the main brand for a group (hence the name) of other company-owned brands (e.g. Kambrook, Sage, and Ronson) and brand partners like Nestle Nespresso.
The Chair and CEO Review provides that despite the challenges of macroeconomic weaknesses, higher-for-longer interest rates, and regional disruptions, the revenue was at a record high in 2024 exceeding $1.5 billion. I am eager to explore how these economic and business conditions have influenced the financial statements of the company!
Fun fact: The company ‘Breville’ combines the surnames of its two founders: Bill O’Brien and Harry Norville.

I am just following up on my step 3 favourite company blogs to finish my assignment. I have found your company Breville group to be very interesting as its probably the closest to my company, Beacon lighting. They both are retail and supply products that mainly use electricity.
I am surprised you had never heard of Breville group before. For myself, being from an older generation, it seems they have been around for ever. I am a major user of one of their products to get me started in the morning, that being the Nespresso coffee machine, ha ha.
